How does the Travel Plus offer work?

Your trade dollars can be applied as a partial payment towards the Best Flexible Rate for stays at over 150+ hotel and resort rooms and apartments at participating properties. The participating properties and accommodation rates are detailed in this website.

How do I get my trade dollars into my Travel Plus account?

Your Travel Plus account has been preloaded with an allocation of trade dollars for you to be able to book your travel with ease. Your Bartercard account will not be deducted until you have made a travel booking (approx. two weeks after booking). We will then do an automatic top up of your Travel Plus account on this website with a new allocation for future travel bookings – and again not charge it from your account until your travel booking has been confirmed.

Can I pay the entire cost of my travel or holiday with my trade dollars?

You can cover up to 60% of your accommodation cost with your trade dollars. Each hotel and resort in the Travel Plus program clearly indicates the maximum amount of trade dollars that you may apply, but it can be as high as 60% towards the cost of your stay. You will always need to pay a cash balance on every booking. But be assured that you are absolutely receiving the best rate available – we guarantee it with our Best Rate Available Guarantee*.

How do I book my holiday?

Call Travel Plus on 1300 133 538 with your preferred resort and holiday dates and they will be able to confirm your booking, or advise the closest available dates. Alternatively, you can book online with your chosen accommodation through this website.

What payment methods are available?

Payment can be made by cheque, money order, bank transfer or with the following credit cards – Visa, MasterCard, BankCard (1.98% surcharge), Diners Club and American Express (3.3% surcharge). With payment by cheque, bookings can only be guaranteed upon receipt of cleared funds.

How soon should I book my holiday?

To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you book your holiday as soon as you have decided on your preferred resort and holiday dates. Whilst we have a substantial number of participating properties, certain hotel and room categories are very popular. Although we strongly advise against leaving your booking as late as possible, we will accept bookings with a minimum 21 days booking notice required. Bookings will only be accepted within 21 days’ notice at the discretion of Travel Plus.

When do I pay for the balance of my resort booking?

Your accommodation payment is required upon confirmation of your requested accommodation and booking dates. This is the amount set out in the accommodation price chart in the promotion brochure and on the website – Less the maximum redeemable trade dollars which is deducted at the time of making your booking.

Do I receive written confirmation of my booking?

Yes, you will receive an Accommodation Voucher confirming your booking number, relevant details of your holiday booking and resort arrival instructions, confirmation of the balance of the accommodation charges paid by you, your trade dollars applied and any other booking particulars requested by you.

When do I pay for the balance of my resort booking?

Your accommodation payment is required upon confirmation of your requested accommodation and booking dates. This is the amount set out in the accommodation price chart in the promotion brochure and on the website – less the maximum redeemable rewards from your Holiday Rewards which is deducted at the time of making your booking.

Will I be charged if I cancel or amend my booking?

Should you cancel your accommodation booking after full payment is made, no refund applies. Resort extras are also non-refundable and cannot be amended after your booking has been confirmed. However, you can amend your booking dates for your selected resort as often as you require up to 35 days prior to your booked arrival date for a processing fee of $25, and you can also transfer your accommodation booking to another party, without penalty or incurring amendment fees. Only name amendments will be permitted within 35 days of arrival at your booked resort. No cancellations or amendments are permitted for “Last minute specials”. At the sole discretion of Travel Plus, and subject to the booked resort and the specific room inventory being utilised for another booking, cancellations and date changes may be permitted within 35 days prior to your booked arrival date, subject to a $100 fee.

How do I find out more about the hotels and resorts?

Our reservations team can answer your questions on aspects of each resort, and the suitability of various resorts to your particular accommodation and holiday requirements. All accommodation enquiries must be made through Travel Plus on 1300 133 538 Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm AEST and 8am to 4pm AEST Saturday and Sunday (AEST/Queensland time). What does ‘Best Flexible Rate’ mean in the accommodation price charts?

The “Best Flexible Rate” is the best rate in the market place available to consumers for a booking that does not carry restrictions as advised by the hotel or resort or determined by Travel Plus. Members can be confident in securing the best rate as all rates offered are backed by our Best Rate Guarantee.

What is resort availability like? What about school holidays?

The participating hotels and resorts are generally available between 8 and 9 months of each calendar year. Resort availability is restricted or excluded during most School Holidays. Public Holidays, Special Events and other Peak Season periods may also be excluded. However, restrictions and exclusions are determined by the destination and properties. Hotels and resorts in many destinations are also available from time to time during otherwise restricted dates. Please call Travel Plus on 1300 133 538 with your holiday preferences for up-to-date resort availability and recommendations. All requested booking dates are subject to promotion availability.
